After washing ashore on Nantucket Island, I found myself in need of a hobby. Combining a passion for Nantucket with a love of all things crafty, Lightship Basket weaving was the perfect fit. The Nantucket Weaving Studio offers a wide variety of baskets both in-stock and made-to-order.
The Christina Rose Collection is a carefully curated compilation of lightship basket purses, furniture and lighting with a distinctly modern vibe - designed by Christina herself.

Are they really 'one-of-a-kind'?
Yup - they sure are, I can weave a 6" round basket 100 times and it will never come out exactly the same. I like to say that every basket is an adventure. I also use many toppers, African beads, and accessories that are one of a kind. I love creating something special for each client, so adding a different personal touch to each basket is part of my creative process.
How do I return an item?
Please contact us directly with any questions or concerns about your basket. Commitment to customer satisfaction is our #1 priority, I handle each case personally. My goal is to leave each and every customer with a smile on your face.
What is the Africa connection?
I also work with a wonderful charity: www.StarchildCharity.com. Through this work I have had the honor of meeting some female African entrepreneurs. Their talent, creativity and tenacity inspire me. I buy their wares to support them in continuing to expand as women, mothers, and entrepreneurs. I also send some of the proceeds (through Starchild Charity) to reinvest in their businesses, and to educate their children - the next generation of African artists, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
What are lead times for a custom basket?
Lead times vary due to certain accessories. For instance, custom scrimshaw is dictated by the scrimshaw artist. For anything we have in stock most lead-times are between 4-6 weeks for a custom basket. (Chandeliers take longer)
What are your delivery options?
Each basket has its own delivery needs. For small baskets UPS or FedEX serves just fine. Tables and chandeliers are handled on a case by case basis, taking into consideration installation needs.
